Our Activities
Welcome to our Activities page, where you can explore the various activities/projects we offer here at Choice & Harmony. Our activities encompass a wide range of skill sets, from arts and crafts to everyday life skills, providing diverse range of opportunities for all our service users no matter their capability range.
We invite you to peruse the gallery and witness first-hand the creativity and learning that takes place here at our centre.

Simple cooking
Choice and Harmony's simple cook classes offer everyone a chance to engage and develop their existing cooking skills with the help of their staff member. A handful of recipes carefully selected and integrated into that days activities are sent home and all we ask is for the service users to bring ingredients from home and the Centre will provide the rest! From chopping to peeling to cooking a whole range of skills are being tested with every meal!
Sensory Play
We understand that some of the people who attend our centre may need a little more time throughout the day to regulate and recharge. That’s why we have dedicated Sensory Time, giving anyone who needs it the opportunity to slow things down and enjoy calming sensory play.
Using different textures, lights, sounds and sensory activities, we create a relaxed space where people can take time for themselves. It’s a valued part of our day and helps everyone feel comfortable, settled and ready to enjoy what comes next.

Relaxation
Sometimes life can be stressful. It's not always the big things, but the little things in life that can cause stress. We at Choice and Harmony want our service users to know that we understand their lives can be just as stressful as ours. So, we offer a relaxation class, with candle lights, relaxing music and breathing exercises to calm the soul. Sometimes it works so well that we have had service users peacefully fall into a gentle sleep!!
Accessing the community
Accessing the community is a large part of what we offer here at Choice & Harmony. From swimming with our 1:1s, bowling, pub lunches, days out using their bus passes, to things as simple as going for a walk round our local park. We always try to encourage our service users to partake in accessing the community to help push themselves outside of their comfort zone, in a safe and secure way. Allowing them to work on their own personal social skills, not only with others within the centre but outside in the community as well.

Lad's Day
Lads' day has proven to be very successful within the centre - sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered. The lads are offered the chance to go play pool or darts or sometimes even crazy golf with not a girl in sight (well maybe a staff member or two). As essential as it is to develop motor skills, social skills can be just as important as this allows for male friendships to grow and form.
Ladies Day
Couldn't forget about our ladies at the centre! With Lads' Day proving to be such a success we wanted to provide the ladies with the same opportunities. So, the ladies are offered a pamper day. Magazines, foot spas, manicures and pedicure with the occasional gossip with the staff. A relaxing day for all the ladies and a chance to stop, unwind and catch up with friends within the centre.

Centre crafts
Our centre craft sessions are all about creativity, enjoyment and having a go! Each week brings something different, so no two craft activities are ever the same. We explore a variety of materials, ideas and techniques to keep sessions fun and engaging. We always consider the abilities and needs of each group when planning our activities, our crafts are then adapted so that everyone can take part, enjoy themselves and feel a real sense of achievement.
Gardening club
Our Gardening Club is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, get hands-on and have fun together! Activities change with the seasons, so there is always something new to get involved with. From planting seeds and growing flowers to caring for our outdoor spaces, everyone can play a part.
It’s a relaxed and enjoyable club that encourages teamwork, learning new skills and taking pride in watching our garden grow!

DIY Club
Our DIY Club is all about getting hands-on, learning new skills and having fun while creating something to be proud of! Each session brings a different project, from building and decorating to repairing. It’s a great opportunity to try out different tools, materials and techniques in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.Whether working together or on individual projects, there’s always something exciting to get stuck into!
Move and Grove
Our Move & Groove Dance Club is all about music, movement and having fun! Our move and grove club is filled with upbeat songs, simple dance routines and plenty of chances to express yourself.
With different music and moves to enjoy, there’s always something to get everyone moving. It’s a lively, feel-good session that brings people together, builds confidence and, most importantly, puts smiles on faces!

Upcycling
Our Upcycling Club is where old and unwanted items are given a whole new lease of life! With a little imagination, we transform everyday objects into something useful, decorative or completely unexpected. Projects are always changing, giving everyone the chance to experiment, get creative and discover new ideas. It’s a fun, hands-on way to reuse, reinvent and turn something forgotten into something to be proud of!
Themed Days
At Choice and Harmony, we love any excuse to make the day extra special!
Our themed days bring everyone together with music, activities, decorations and plenty of fun.
From Cowboy day, Minion day, Disney Day, and even a wet and wild day, there’s always something to look forward to. Each one is a chance to make memories, share lots of laughs and enjoy a day and sometime we wonder who has more fun the staff of the service users!!
